ABOUT ASTRID
A search for the extraordinary.
“My name is Astrid Torrente and my work is the answer to a search for the extraordinary.”
ASTRID TORRENTE · VIOLINIST
The starting point
is classical.
My name is Astrid Torrente and my professional career is the result of a constant search to redefine the limits of the traditional violin.
I trained at the conservatories of Reus and Castellón, where I completed my advanced violin studies. That classical training is still the foundation of everything I do on stage: rigor, technique, sensitivity and respect for an instrument with centuries of history.
Over the years I have taken that foundation towards a more contemporary form of expression. I am interested in preserving the elegance and emotional power of strings, but also in exploring what happens when the violin enters into dialogue with other languages, other genres and a staging designed for today’s audiences.
That evolution has led me to work with acoustic and electric violin and to incorporate methacrylate instruments and LED technology. For me, technology does not replace music: it expands its possibilities. Light, sound and stage presence can come together to transform the atmosphere of a space without losing the essence of the instrument.
My repertoire moves between classical music, film scores, pop, rock, dance and electronic music. This versatility allows me to move from an intimate, elegant performance to a moment of much higher energy, always seeking for the music to fit what is happening and the people who are experiencing it.
Highlights of her career include her appearance at TEDxReus in 2023, her victory on the TV3 program La Gran Vetllada, her participation as guest violinist at Camela’s concert at the WiZink Center in Madrid, and her live violin concert from inside the Sagrada Família, broadcast in collaboration with TikTok in June 2026.
ARTISTIC EVOLUTION
Music is the origin. The experience goes further.
My work is not limited to performing a set repertoire. Each performance is prepared according to the type of event, the space, the moment and the desired aesthetic. The intention may be to accompany with subtlety, to surprise, to raise the energy or to turn the violin into the absolute protagonist of the stage. That is why acoustic, electric and LED are not three fixed labels. They are different tools within a single artistic identity. The choice depends on what each experience needs and on the role that music should play in it.

A RECOGNIZABLE IDENTITY
From the traditional violin
to a signature style.
In the digital environment, my transparent violin has become one of the most recognizable elements of my identity. But behind that image there is a broader idea: enabling an instrument with centuries of history to keep surprising, moving and finding new spaces without ceasing to be a violin. That search connects all my performances, from a ceremony or private celebration to a corporate event, a live show or a recurring program in a tourist venue. The context changes; the intention to create something memorable remains.
